LFT Test in Delhi (Liver Function Test)

The liver function tests involve several tests for detailed analysis. It includes AST or aspartate transaminase, ALT or alanine transaminase, serum bilirubin, total protein, GGT or gamma-glutamyl transferase and albumin tests. There are more small tests involved which also affect the overall analysis.

People whose reports show high LFT have nothing to worry about if the reading is temporary. It is a sign of high enzymes, which needs to be taken care of. If the enzyme levels are not temporary, it indicates a person is having liver disease or hepatitis. This high level of LTF can be due to the intake of medications also. An LFT or liver functioning test is done to check if your liver is functioning smoothly along with other organs. It is done via some blood tests.

For the normal range of an LFT test, the level of alanine transaminase test should be between 7-56 u/l, 44-147 u/l for alkaline phosphatase test, 10-40 u/l for aspartate aminotransferase test, 3,5-5.5 u/l  for albumin and bilirubin level upto 1.2 mg/dl. 

An ideal test results of LFT indicates the smooth functioning of the liver. In this all the parameters of the test should be normal. Liver is considered healthy with a good report and it is said that liver is facing no damage of any kind. 

If your LFT score is below 238 db/m is considered as normal. It means the level of fatty alteration in the liver does not exceed the normal range. The liver stiffness is measured in kilopascals. Normally, the level stays between 2-7kPa. Those who are suffering from any liver disease may get a result higher than normal.

A patient may feel discomfort, especially in the upper part of the right abdomen, placed under the ribs. Sometimes the pain can be sharp, bloating in the related area and sometimes that intolerable stabbing pain. Sometimes this pain can shift to the shoulder, neck or back.
